Crazy compound sentences

Today for writing we had to make some compound sentences. They are two simple sentences joined together with a conjunction word such as 'and' or 'with'.
This is a compound sentence.
I walked home AND I saw the dog had run away.
You know that it is a compound sentence because if you take away the AND then there are two simple sentences that make sense on their own.
Can you write a compound sentence?

  1. Hi Grace ,
You are so right with making a compound sentence with a conjunction(a joining word).
Is there anything else you can make a compound sentence with other than a conjunction word?
I went to the beach but I didn't go for a swim.
