How to grow crystals

Do you want a amazing crystal in your room? well here's how to make one at real cheap price. In class we have been doing information reports about how to grow a crystal. This is my step by step report. Please enjoy and try yourself. I will too and ' tell you how it went in the comments!!! 

How to grow your own Sugar crystals!!!


Equipment

Base = paper plate, glass, plastic, fabric, sandpaper or blotting paper.

Eyedropper or teaspoon

Kettle

A cup

A spoon

Cool, dark place to store your cup of liquid


Ingredients

Sugar

Very hot water

 Food colouring (optional)


Steps

  1. (make sure you have a parent's help for the next steps). Boil water with your kettle.

  2. Put in the sugar 

  3.  Dissolve as many grains as possible.

  4. Add food coloring to color it. (Optional)

  5. Pour a little of the liquid on to your base.

  6. Store the base in a warm area and the rest of the water in a cool dry area

  7. Stir the liquid every day and put a little more on the base with the eyedropper

  8. Continue this process until your crystal has grown (which will take about three weeks).
