My Kowhaiwhai what is it?

Today in class we have been making kowhaiwhai patterns. What is a kowhaiwhai? It is a Maori pattern symbolizing someone. Kowhaiwhai tell a story so we wrote about our kowhaiwhai too! I will show you my kowhaiwhai and what I wrote about it. I hope you enjoy Tip, for looking at it just squint a little.

My Kowhaiwhai

My kowhaiwhai pattern has seven koru in it to represent my family. The second biggest is my mum and the biggest one is my dad. The three in the middle are me, Zach and Alex who are the youngest. And the two outside the biggest ones are Oscar and Jasmine the oldest children supporting their own weight.

In my pattern I used The mathematical transformations: Transition and reflection. I reflected twice then Translated and repeated.

I learnt alot about kowhaiwhais I like the way mine turned out and I think you should try make one yourself. What do you think of my kowhaiwhai? do you like it? I hope you do comment your answer.
